You've been carrying this long enough.

Maybe you’ve tried weekly therapy — and it helped, a little. But every Monday you came back in, unpacked the same things, made a little progress, and then life got in the way. The momentum broke. You started over. The work never quite finished.

Or maybe you’ve never done therapy at all, but something has happened — or built up over years — and you’re done waiting to deal with it. You’re ready. You just need the time and space to actually go there.

That’s what a Somatic EMDR Intensive is.

Instead of spreading trauma work across months of 50-minute sessions, we go deep over two full days — with a somatic, nervous-system-informed approach that doesn’t just process memories, but helps your body finally let go of what it’s been holding. The result isn’t just progress. It’s a shift you can actually feel.

Somatic EMDR Intensives in Tampa are for people who are done with slow. Who want focused, immersive support — and results that last.

Intensives are available to established clients and to new clients as referrals.

Why weekly therapy sometimes isn't enough and what to do about it

Weekly therapy has real value. But it also has real limits.

When you process something difficult in a 50-minute session, you close the door before the work is done. Your nervous system has to hold everything in place until next week — and by then, the thread is harder to find. You lose momentum. You re-explain. You start again.

An EMDR Intensive removes that cycle entirely.

In one intensive, you get:

✔ Two 4-hour sessions or four 2-hour sessions, completed within one week or spread across one month
✔ Overnight integration built in, so your brain continues healing between sessions
✔ A preparation session before we begin, so nothing feels rushed going in
✔ An integration session after, so you’re not left alone to make sense of it
✔ A somatic approach that attends to your nervous system, not just your memories
✔ Therapy in English or Spanish

This is not about rushing healing. It’s about giving it the space it actually needs.

Somatic EMDR Intensives may be right for you if…

  • You’ve done therapy before and want something more focused and accelerated
  • You want to target a specific trauma, memory, or belief that’s been keeping you stuck
  • You feel emotionally frozen and want real momentum
  • You live a full life and need therapy that works with your schedule, not against it
  • You want therapy in Spanish and a therapist who gets the cultural context
  • You’re dealing with burnout, anxiety, or trauma responses that haven’t shifted in traditional weekly sessions.
  • You want the format to be built around your story, your body, your culture, and your pace
  • You’re navigating life between cultures as an immigrant, a first-generation professional, or someone supporting family here and abroad, and want a therapist who understands that without you having to explain it first

What your EMDR Intensive looks like, start to finish

01
Before

Intensive Planning Session (1 hour)

Before we begin, we meet to get aligned. We clarify your goals, review your history, build somatic grounding tools, and map out exactly how the intensive will run — so you arrive prepared, not anxious. This is also where we choose your format: two 4-hour sessions or four 2-hour sessions, completed within one week or spread across one month.

03
Between Blocks

Your brain keeps working between sessions

Rest. Notice what shifts between blocks — dreams, emotions, sensations, new thoughts. Use the grounding tools we practiced. You can reach out if something feels urgent.

05
After

Integration Session (1 hour, within 1–2 weeks)

We check in on what's shifted, process anything that surfaced after the intensive, and decide together what comes next — whether that's feeling complete, a follow-up intensive, or transitioning into weekly sessions.

Meet Sheli

Hi, I’m Sheli.

As a bilingual therapist and BIPOC advocate, I provide care that honors culture, language, and lived experience. My practice is grounded in cultural humility and body-based healing.

I created this practice for people like you—people who are holding a lot, quietly. Professionals, caregivers, helpers. People who show up for others, even when they’re struggling themselves.

My team is here to help you slow down, breathe, and come back into your body. We use somatic practices, EMDR, and mind-body techniques to help you heal from the root—not just cope.

Healing is possible. And you don’t have to do it alone.

What shifts after an EMDR Intensive

Every person’s experience is their own — but clients often describe things like:

  • A memory that once felt overwhelming now feels like something that happened, not something that’s still happening
  • Relief from patterns rooted in family, culture, or generational expectation
  • Physical tension and anxiety that had lived in their body for years beginning to release
  • Clarity about patterns and beliefs they hadn’t been able to name before
  • Sleeping better in the days after the intensive
  • Feeling more present — at work, in relationships, in their own skin
  • A sense that something that had been locked finally opened

“This was life changing.” — EMDR Intensive client

Got a question?

Questions about EMDR Intensives

Not necessarily. Most clients schedule Day 1 and Day 2 within the same week — consecutive days or with 1–2 days in between. We’ll decide together during your planning session based on your schedule and what your nervous system needs.

Yes. Both days can be conducted online via secure telehealth if you’re outside the Tampa area or prefer virtual sessions. We serve clients throughout Florida, New York, and Washington.

That’s okay. The preparation session before the intensive is specifically designed to introduce you to the process, build grounding tools, and make sure you feel ready. You don’t need prior EMDR experience to benefit from an intensive.

Yes. Many clients do EMDR while managing mental health with medication. Therapy and medication address different aspects of healing and can work well together. Let us know what you’re currently taking during your consultation so we can plan accordingly.

Life happens. Please reach out as soon as possible and we’ll work to reschedule within the same week so you don’t lose momentum.

Rest. No intense social events, demanding work, or heavy conversations. Your brain is actively processing — give it space. Light movement, nourishing food, journaling, and early sleep are ideal.

EMDR Intensives are a private-pay service. If you have out-of-network benefits, a superbill may be available for possible reimbursement — check with your insurance provider before booking. HSA/FSA cards are accepted.

That’s what the free 45-minute consultation is for. We’ll talk through what you’re hoping to work on, assess readiness, and figure out together whether this format is the right fit. There’s no pressure and no commitment required.

How To Get Started

You’ve been managing. Getting through. Holding it together. But there’s a difference between surviving and actually feeling free from what’s been weighing on you.

An EMDR Intensive gives you the time, the space, and the support to do the work that weekly therapy never quite finished — in two days, with a therapist who will be with you the entire way.

The first step is a conversation. Free. No commitment. Just clarity.
